History |
|
People from the area with vast experience in the industrial, commercial and construction activities of over 25 years, hired the marketing and feasibility studies that gave birth to C.I. Spring Farms S.A. in July 2001.
The adaptation work began in a 50.000 m2 ( 5 hectares ) plot of land located in the Municipality of La Ceja , near the international Rionegro airport, in August 2001. Marketing of the first flowers took place in April 2002. Today, five years later, the company owns 247.000 mts2 ( 24.7 hectares ) distributed as follows:
Greenhouses: 54.480 m 2 ( 5.44 hectares )
Under zaram: 30.300 m 2 ( 3.03 hectares )
Playback banks: 1.720 m 2
Seedbeds: 2.672 m 2
Post harvest: 270 m 2
Coolers: 173 m 2
Constructed area: 2.489 m 2
Water reservoirs: 3.785 m 3 ( 22.000 m 3 )
At present, we are 147 employees of which 18 work in administrative and commercial areas.
Furthermore we are members of Asocolflores, BASC (Business Alliance for Secure Commerce) and WFFSA (Wholesale Florist & Florist Supplier Association).
Region
• C.I. Spring Farms S.A. is located in the Colombian Andean Region, Municipality of La Ceja ( 2.100 m altitude) at 50 minutes driving from Medellín city.
• A large number of flower growers have their cultivation fields in this valley. The richness of the soil, its climate conditions and the proximity to Rionegro International Airport (only 15 minutes from the farm) makes C.I. Spring Farms S.A. an ideal place for this business.
